What is the definition of breakthrough bleeding?

Breakthrough bleeding is any spotting or actual full flow inbetween the last day of your period and the start of your new one. If you have a 28 day cycle you will bleed days 1-7 ovulate on day 14 and start your cycle all over agian on day 28. If you have any spotting or bleeding after day 7 is breakthrough. Hope this helps :)
