Menthol headaches?

I think I'm allergic to menthol. Any time I have cough drops or gum with menthol in it, I get a really bad headache. This happens to my dad, too. Does anybody else have this problem? Is there anything I can do about it? Or are my dad and I just mutants and the only people on earth with this?
