What are my rights buying a car 2nd hand from an independant dealer?

last week i bought a v reg scenic from a garage (it was a p/ex to clear for him) and i have since discovered that the rear wiper does not work. he gave me a 6 month warranty (car care or something) but i have phoned them and the rear wiper is not covered by this. what are my rights in terms of getting this mended? it is worth pointing out that the garage is not exactly on my doorstep
